Inland property in rural Spain can be an appealing option for several reasons. Firstly, your hard earned Euros will go a little further away from the tourist hotspots on the Spanish costas. You can enjoy a slower paced way of life, and also be part of a genuine Spanish community.
Busot is a village, with approximately 1300 residents, situated in the province of Alicante, around a half hour drive north of the city of Alicante, in the region of Campo de Alicante. Although inland, Busot is just over five kilometres from the coast.
The town is situated on a hill on the southern slopes of the mountains of the Cabezón de Oro (golden hill) about seven kilometres from the coast at Campello. On the outskirts of the city are the remains of the old Moorish castle (whose origin is estimated in the twelfth century) now completely ruined, the monuments of the chapel of San José and the Cuevas del Canelobre.
The Cuevas del Canelobre is a huge cave and is the main tourist attraction of this region. Inside the cave is reminiscent of a cathedral with a high domed ceiling and such excellent acoustics that concerts and folk festivals are performed there.
The surrounding countryside is truly breathtaking and keen hikers will make the most of the trails from Busot which criss-cross this unique landscape. For golf lovers, the Bonalba and Alicante Golf Clubs are only a ten minute drive away.
Property for sale in inland Alicante has much to offer and Busot is a lovely peaceful location, yet within easy reach of Alicante and the airport, as well as beautiful Spanish beaches.
