The huge size of the ship dwarfed the port, where it will be moored until 6pm on Friday evening.
Locals came out to take photographs of the Royal Caribbean ship, which will continue on to Barcelona, its permanent base.
The ship took 32 months to build and weighs in at the whopping 226, 963 tonnes and is 1,188 feet (362 metres) long, that works out higher than the Eiffel Tower.
The ship is 215 feet (65.7 metres) wide and sails at 22 knots cruising speed.
It can accommodate 6, 780 guests and has 2,100 crew members from all over the world.
The 18-deck ship includes ‘The Ultimate Abyss’, a ten storey slide and a kids water park as well as seven different “neighbourhoods” including a boardwalk, royal promenade, entertainment place and pool/sports zone. There is also a spa and fitness centre and a bionic bar where all the waiters are robots.
